The AmCham Charitable Foundation Prize Book Awards

Introduced in 1986, this is an annual educational incentive scheme involving 20 Hong Kong secondary schools and colleges. A prize book and check for HK$1,000 is awarded to students in the next to graduating class who combine excellence in scholarship with achievements in community service, leadership, and other related fields.

Lyn Edinger US Scholarship

The Lyn Edinger U.S. Studies Scholarship was established in 2002 to present a one-time scholarship to secondary school graduates from Hong Kong who have been successfully admitted to a U.S. university for a full-time undergraduate program. The students are recognized for exceptional academic records with a good combination of leadership skill and community service work. Each winner receives a HK$24,000 scholarship and a Certificate of Merit from the Foundation. This program is administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE).

Eligibility Requirements

Students must fulfill ALL the following criteria to apply.

  1. Permanent resident of Hong Kong
  2. Received at least 5 years of continuous education in a Hong Kong secondary school.
  3. Currently enrolled as a full-time student in Secondary 6 of a Hong Kong secondary school for the year 2016-2017; and
  4. Successfully gained admission to an undergraduate degree program from a U.S. four-year college or university as a first-year student in the fall of 2017.

The completed application form and supporting documents should be submitted together, in person or by mail, directly to the Institute of International Education at:

All application materials must be received by May, 2017 to receive full consideration. The scholarship recipient will be announced on the program website in  June 2017.

The AmCham Charitable Foundation Scholar Award

Introduced in 1977, the Scholar Award aims to recognize full-time MBA students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, and the University of Hong Kong who have achieved outstanding academic results during the first year of their studies. The award winner from each university receives a check for HK$15,000 and a Certificate of Merit.

The Ira Dan Kaye Community Service Award

Introduced in 1986, this annual award recognizes the services of individuals who have performed outstanding service to the Hong Kong community on a voluntary basis. Recipients of the award receive a check for HK$30,000 for a charity of his/her choice and an engraved silver plate. The award was renamed the Ira Dan Kaye Community Service Award to pay special tribute to our past chairman who passed away on June 6, 1999.
