To highlight Women in Sport on the occasion of the 2008 Olympics, AmCham’s Women of Influence committee will showcase a panel of three distinguished and high-achieving women who have been playing leading roles in Hong Kong sport within the last 15+ years. The key topics to be covered during this luncheon event:
* Impact of the Olympic Games on the public’s interest in sport * Insights on building and managing a high-performance and high-pressure career in the public eye * Unique opportunities and challenges for female athletes * Needs for female role models in sport * The importance of sport and fitness for Hong Kong as a world-class city
Robyn Lamsam has been one of Hong Kong’s most acclaimed sportswomen in the 1990s. She was an active swimmer for Hong Kong between 1986 and 1998, was the Hong Kong National Swimming Champion from 1992 until retirement in 1998, and holder of 21 national swimming records from 1993.
Trisha Leahy (Ph.D). is the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Sports Institute, which is the Government’s delivery agent for elite sport training systems in Hong Kong.
Fenella Ng Gar Loc, has been one of HK's longest serving and successful athletes. She represented HK in Swimming from 1982 - 1994 and then changed sports to focus her energy on Rowing from 1995 - 2000. In total, Fenella represented HK in 5 Asian Games and 3 Olympic Games, plus a multitude of International and World Championships.

* For all check and cash payments, a valid credit card details is needed as gurantee. If payment is not received by 5pm the day after the event, credit card on file will be charged automatically.
* When Typhoon 8 (or above) or Black Rainstorm Signal is hoisted, all events will be cancelled.
