A former White House aide and the co-founder and Chairman of RGE Monitor will give an insight into US and global economic and financial outlook and its implications for Asia, at a presentation to the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong next Thursday. Nouriel Roubini, the Chairman of the popular economic website, Roubini Global Economics (RGE) Monitor and professor of Economics at New York University's Stern School of Business, is well known for his call on the subprime crisis. He is an internationally known expert in the field of international macroeconomics and former White House aide. Professor Roubini served as a senior adviser to the Under Secretary for International Affairs, Director of the Office of Policy Development and Review of the U.S. Treasury Department (1999 - 2000) and Senior Economist for International Affairs of White House Council of Economic Advisers (1998 - 1999). Professor Roubini is the author of several books, including: Bailouts or Bail-ins? Responding to Financial Crises in Emerging Economies, Political Cycles and the Macroeconomy, and International Financial Crises and the New International Financial Architecture. Professor Roubini received an undergraduate degree at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy and a Ph.D. in Economics at Harvard University, and was previously a faculty member at Yale University.
