May 25, 2008, Hong Kong – The American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong today announced the merger of its Events Department and Business Development Department for purpose of increasing operational efficiency.
Ms. Carol Wang, formerly AmCham’s Business Development Director, has been appointed as Events & Business Development Director. She will take the expanded role effective immediately.
The synergistic effect of the combined department is a higher level of coordination and better mutual support. “In any chamber, a solid and fine-tuned programmatic calendar is absolutely essential to member retention and recruitment. Therefore, the events and membership staff must work together with a great deal of efficiency and effectiveness, ” said AmCham’s president, Richard Vuylsteke.
All staff under the department will remain with the same titles and responsibilities.
Ms. Carol Wang joined AmCham in 2005. In her former role as Business Development Director, Carol was responsible for the overall branding and marketing of AmCham, including identifying new growth areas and creating new partnerships with local and international groups in benefit to members.
