Dr. Michael Swaine will discuss the current U.S.-China relationship and U.S. policy vis a vis China in a roundtable discussion.

Dr. Swaine, one of the most prominent U.S. analysts on the issue of Chinese security studies, specializes in Chinese security and foreign policy, US-China relations, and East Asian international relations. He joined the Carnegie Endowment after serving at the RAND Corporation for 12 years. A speaker of Mandarin and Japanese, he has authored more than 10 publications on security policy in the region.

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is a private organization dedicated to advancing cooperation between nations and promoting active international engagement by the U.S. One of its projects is China Program, which provides research and policy recommendations on the pressing issues surrounding China's evolution, with a focus on China's political and legal reform, the rule of law and national security issues.
