Thursday, January 24, 2008 | Entrepreneurs Committee with The Chinese University of Hong Kong
 |
What is the state of entrepreneurship in Hong Kong? To start off the new year, we are pleased to invite you to obtain answers from some of Hong Kong's most successful entrepreneurs. The panel discussion will be preceded by an overview from Chinese University HK, based on its Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) report. Join us as we merge the business/commercial and academic worlds in interpreting Hong Kong's approach to entrepreneurship.
* The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) is a not-for-profit academic research consortium that has as its goal making quality international research data on entrepreneurial activity readily available to as wide an audience as possible. Prof. Hugh Thomas and Prof. Kevin Au work with a special focus on the Pearl River Delta region, which allows them to offer a detailed report on Hong Kong.
* Gary Crestejo has over 10 years experience in business consultancy and entrepreneurship. Among his startup companies Demiurge Unit LED Experience Design & Consultancy was awarded Innovative Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 by JCI HK, Awards for Industries 2006 by HKGCC, and LED Design Award 2006 by China Solid State Lighting Association.
* Alvin Ho is the director of CLSA Private Equity in Hong Kong. CLSA is an award-winning brokerage, investment banking and private equity group in the Asia-Pacific markets. Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Hong Kong, CLSA's major shareholder is France's Credit Agricole, the world's 6th largest bank by Tier One capital and 7th assets.
* Charles Mok is the Chairman of Internet Society, Hong Kong (ISOC HK), Vice Chairman of The Professional Commons, ex-officio member and immediate past president of the Hong Kong Information Technology Federation (HKITF), and Chairperson of the Health IT Special Interest Division of the Hong Kong Computer Society. |
