Richard R. Vuylsteke has been president of AmCham Hong Kong since February 2008. For nine years, prior to his current position, he served as president of AmCham Taipei, Taiwan’s largest and most active foreign business organization. At both chambers Richard was tasked with overall responsibility for chamber operations, including programmatic, briefing, advocacy, and other membership and community services. Richard has spent more than 40 years in Asia and China-related fields of study and employment. He has been a Fulbright Scholar in India, a research fellow at Harvard Law School, assistant director of an Asia-Pacific think tank, and special assistant to the president of the East-West Center. For 12 years, he taught courses in Asian history and social, political & legal philosophy, primarily at the University of Hawaii. During more than two decades of residence in Taiwan, Richard taught for 4 years at the U.S. Foreign Service Institute School, served 12 years as senior editor of an English-language magazine focused on Taiwan, and wrote extensively for publications based in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United States. He also spent one year at Taipei American School writing a history of the 50-year-old institution (Ties That Bind, published in February 2000). Richard earned M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Hawaii, specializing in Western and Chinese political philosophy.  Peggy Chan Executive Assistant Tel : 2530 6912

Pearly Mak joined the Chamber as Accounting Manager in May 2005. Pearly has about 10 years' experience in the field of accounting and finance, with extensive exposure to special assignments when she worked in KPMG and Warner-Lambert. She also has accounting and administration experience in a not-for-profit organisation, the Hong Kong Institute of Company Secretaries, and entrepreneurial experience for two years before joining the Chamber. Pearly has a Bachelors in Business Administration - Accounting from Hong Kong Baptist University and is a CPA of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mike Tsang Membership Director Tel: 2530 6916 Michael Tsang is responsible for membership recruitment, retention, and quality of follow-up services to AmCham members.
Michael has a BS in Hotel, Restaurant, and Travel Management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. After graduated, Michael has started his career with Hyatt International as a corporate management trainee and worked at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. Prior joining AmCham, Michael has worked in one of a Hong Kong top retail chain and has extensive experience in customer service management, staff training & development, and overseas project management. Michael has nearly 15 years of hospitality, FMCG and retail operation experience, and he is trilingual – English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. |

She joined AmCham as Membership/Accounting Assistant in 1980, promoted to Membership Coordinator in 1986, in support of the Membership Committee. She was promoted to Membership Supervisor in 1988 and served as Assistant Membership Manager from 2005. | Rachel Lam is serving as a Membership Executive and her main role is new member recruitment, scouting and marketing. In addition to these responsiblities, she also works closely with the events department; participates in AmCham events, meetings and activites; and assist with new marketing campaigns for member recruitment purposes. Rachel has a Bachelor's in Economics with a minor in Sustainable Community Development from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. |

Her specialty is development of print and web marketing materials, external partnership management, and promotional materials. Jin-ah joined AmCham in 2006. Prior to living in Hong Kong, Jin-ah has worked in Chicago on restaurant management projects, including the Paris Casino in Las Vegas and Krispy Kreme in Seattle, WA. Jin-ah has a BA in Communications from University of Minnesota, Duluth. |

Mary Simpson is a seasoned events professional with 15 years experience providing Events/Conference Management. Mary has overseen some of the largest community, corporate and self-development events in Australia, Hawaii, and Amsterdam attended by up to 20,000 people per event. She has an excellent track record in leading, managing, and coaching events/conference teams from 10–1,200 people. In addition, Mary is an accomplished best-selling author of three self-help books for young women in their teens and twenties and has written regularly for Australia’s No. 1 magazine for young women, Dolly. Mary is also a regular public speaker and has spoken annually to thousands of people at schools, conferences, corporate events and churches. She works on planning, organization, and coordination of business meetings and functions, as well as other special programs such as golf activities, events publicity, on-site registration and financial accounting. She has previously worked as AmCham’s Programs Coordinator and was promoted to Programs Supervisor in 1989. During her 20-plus years at the AmCham, Mimi has been promoted from a secretarial to a supervisory position and has worked in the programs, conferences and seminars departments, as well as on the annual ball. She is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Chamber’s speaker programs, conferences and seminars, including training workshops and executive education programs. Prior to joining AmCham, she worked at Bank of America, First National Bank of Boston and the Saskatchewan Medical Care Insurance Commission in Canada. She is responsible for registrations, workshops, social events, liaison for specific committees and event marketing distribution, among other duties. Prior to serving as the Events Executive, Katherine was the Membership Executive when she joined the Chamber in December 2010 and was mainly responsible for member retention activities. Katherine has a BBA in Accounting from Southern Cross University, Australia. |
GOVERNMENT RELATIONS AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS Ming-Lai Cheung Manager, Government Relations & Public Affairs Tel: 2530 6927 | Ming-Lai Cheung is the Manager of Government Relations and Public Affairs for the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. In this position, she covers trade policy and regulatory issues affecting the Chamber’s members in Hong Kong and in the greater China region. Ming-Lai acts as the Chamber’s liaison to the U.S., China and Hong Kong government agencies as well as other trade organizations. She oversees the Chamber’s Charitable Foundation, corporate social responsibility, and community outreach programs. Ming-Lai undertook her legal training as a Barrister’s Assistant in Sydney, Australia and was admitted as a Lawyer of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. Ming-Lai holds a Master of International Law from University of Sydney, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from College of Law, Sydney, a Diploma in Law from the Legal Profession Admission Board, New South Wales, and a Bachelor of Social Science majoring in Government and Public Administration from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

| Dannio joined the team in Nov, 2010. Prior to his present role in supporting government relations, he was a long-time copywriter. He is a graduate in Journalism, and also holds a MBA from the University of Leicester.

CHINA AFFAIRS William Lin China Affairs Manager 2530-6915 | William Lin is the China Affairs Manager of the Chamber. He is responsible for the planning and implementation of the Chamber’s China Agenda led by the Board and China Affairs Group. Coordinated with the Chamber departments and Committees, his team works closely with government departments and business communities in both Mainland China and Hong Kong to advocate the interest of the Chamber and to identify China related business opportunities for members.
Prior joining AmCham, William worked for CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade) HK & Macau Office as the deputy representative from May 2008 to May 2010, and before that he served in different departments at Beijing and Shanghai with China International Exhibition Center Corporation Group, a subsidiary company of CCPIT and one of the biggest exhibition companies in China.
William holds a BA degree in management from Central University of Finance & Economics in Beijing. He speaks fluent Mandarin, Cantonese, English and South Fujian Dialect.

Lloyd Cheong China Affairs Executive Tel : 2530 6928
| Lloyd Cheong joined China Affairs team in November 2009. He is responsible in assisting the overall operation of the Chamber’s China Agenda. His major duties include China policy research, ad-hoc program development, and China-related communication. Prior to joining AmCham, Lloyd worked at Bank of China, CLP Power and Hong Kong Legislative Council. He is also a member of the Hong Kong International Relations Research Association. Lloyd graduated with honors from Hong Kong Baptist University. He holds a BSocSc in Political Science and International Relations. |
PUBLICATIONS Daniel Kwan Editor-In-Chief Tel : 2530 6943 | Daniel Kwan is the Editor-in-Chief of the Chamber. He is in charge of the publication section which produces a number of publications including the monthly AmCham magazine. The journal serves as a window on the Chamber and plays a key role in its communication strategy. Apart from members’ news, it covers business news, market trends and social issues of special interest to chamber members. In addition, interviews of government and business leaders are also regular features of the magazine.
Daniel graduated from the York University in Toronto with a BA degree and later obtained an EMBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Daniel has been a China journalist for 20 years. He was with the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong before he joined the Chamber in November 2008. He has also taught news translation courses at the Hong Kong Baptist University. He speaks fluent Mandarin, Cantonese and English | | | |  Regina Leung Advertising Sales Manager Tel : 2530 6942 | Regina Leung is responsible for maintaining, growing and expanding advertising client bases and sales revenue for AmCham media. She also investigates clients’ business needs and provides them with integrated media solutions. AmCham publishes a monthly magazine, Members Directory, China Business Directory, Living in Hong Kong and Doing business in Hong Kong handbooks, as well as online advertising at its website and advertising banners in the electronic newsletter. Regina has had advertising sales and management experience in print and electronic media for over 15 years, particularly in the regions of Asia Pacific, Hong Kong and Mainland China. Before joining AmCham in January 2008, she had worked with China Daily Hong Kong Ltd, Sina.com Hong Kong and Global Sources. | | | |  Kenny Lau Assistant Editor & Listing Sales Tel : 2530 6940 | Kenny Lau joined AmCham in March 2007, as Editorial and Listing Sales Assistant. He was promoted to Assistant Editor of AmCham's monthly magazine in the same year, for which he is also a photographer. Kenny is also responsible for listing enhancement sales in some of AmCham's annual publications. He previous worked for United Airlines at the Hong Kong International Airport and holds a BA in History from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. |
