About China Affairs Department China Affairs Department is an executive workforce designated to formulate and implement AmCham’s overall China Agenda. Led by the Board & the China Affairs Group and coordinated with Chamber’s Government Relations/Public Affairs Department, Publication Department and all Chamber Committees, China Affairs Department is dedicated to reinforce Hong Kong as a "gateway into China" and also a "gateway out of China." The two major goals of China Affairs Department are 1) to inform AmCham members broadly about business developments and opportunities in Mainland China and 2) to assist member companies to succeed in China’s market and also to interface effectively with Chinese companies that are trying to go international. In order to achieve the goals, the Department has planned the following programs and activities.
China Affairs Programs and Activities:
China DelegationTo participate in conferences and events in various provinces and cities with up-to-date Chinese development themes; to arrange meetings with Chinese government leadership at different levels and organize site visits to difference projects or companies to deepen members’ knowledge on China’s investment policies and environment in different parts of China.
China ConferenceTo update AmCham members annually the latest policies and to identify business opportunities in Mainland China.
Business Briefing ProgramTo develop and provide business briefing programs to facilitate member companies to do better business in China and to help them promote services in assisting Chinese companies successfully going global.
Network StrengtheningTo expand AmCham members’ business network by recruiting Chinese company members present in Hong Kong and with intention to expand overseas market.
