Law Committee is made up of lawyers or business personnel from diverse and varied backgrounds, companies/ firms, and countries, who are interested in legal development and issues in Hong Kong and the PRC. The committee’s mission is to promote the evolution of Hong Kong’s and the PRC’ s legal systems through dialogue, debate, analysis and research. Committee Meeting: Committee usually meets on the second Thursday of each month.

Please join our next meeting which will be held on Thursday, March 11 to welcome Gloria Leung, Tax Director at Asia EXPATax who will speak on Cross-Border Mobility, Session II -Tax Issues in Transferring Employees Between Hong Kong and the Mainland.
DETAILS Cross-border mobility between China and Hong Kong has many potential tax issues that both multi-national corporations and their mobile executives need to be aware of. In this meeting we will discuss the key tax issues relevant to cross-border transfers to China, their significant cost impact to business, and suggestions to mitigate such tax risk and exposure.
ABOUT GLORIA LEUNG Gloria is the Tax Director at Asia EXPATax. She has extensive experience advising international corporations and law firms on cross-border tax issues including transfer pricing documentation, secondment planning, strategic tax treaty planning, and remuneration structuring for senior executives. Before assuming the current role, Gloria has been the Asia Tax Manager of a law firm, Linklaters, for five years. Prior to moving to Asia, she practiced in the US and worked for listed corporations managing their international tax matters. Gloria graduated from University of California Santa Barbara with a B.A. degree in Economics and University of Southern California with a Masters degree in Business Taxation. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the State of California, US.
