AFI Project 20/20 Film Festival

The U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Arts Centre, will bring the AFI PROJECT 20/20 film festival to Hong Kong for the third consecutive year, from April 19-29, 2010.

This year’s festival will showcase seven American and international films and there is no charge for tickets.

Chile Earthquake Relief through Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is responding to the devastating 8.8-magnitude earthquake that struck off the coast of Chile, 200 miles southwest of Santiago. A report from Chilean’s Ministry of Housing states that more than 1,500,000 homes have suffered some damage and 500,000 have suffered serious structural damage.

Habitat’s ability to expand work in Chile to effectively meet the housing needs created by the quake will require support from individuals, churches, corporate partners and other organizations—particularly in light of resources already committed to Haiti. Ambassador Stephen M. Young will assume his responsibilities as Consul General of the United States of America in Hong Kong beginning in March 2010. As Consul General, he will be responsible for the Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions.
