Dear Committee members,
We are pleased to announce that Mr. Paul D. DETAILS
Mr. Borseth of Union Pacific Railroad will discuss their rail network for international container traffic moving to and from the USA west coast as well as how UP's new intermodal facility in Chicago (Joliet Intermodal Terminal -Global 4) will expand UP's current central and western Chicago coverage to including the rapidly growing southwest Chicago area. JIT will provide access to all major traffic lanes, and is situated to take advantage of UP's fastest east/west service lane. In addition, it will benefit customers by reducing dray costs. UP operates North America's premier railroad franchise, covering 23 states in the western two-thirds of the United States. The railroad links every major West Coast and Gulf Coast port and provides service to the east through its four major gateways in Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis and New Orleans. Additionally, Union Pacific operates key north/south corridors and is the only railroad to serve all six major gateways to Mexico.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Paul D. Borseth was named Assistant Vice President – International Intermodal in August 2002. In his position, Paul is responsible for commercial activities related primarily to the Asia-U.S. containerized marketplace and Union Pacific’s relationship with ocean carriers active in that trade. Prior to his current position, Paul spent two years as General Director, Lane Management in the Domestic Intermodal team focusing on national accounts coupled with the strategic and tactical marketing of several key intermodal lanes. Prior to that position, Paul worked in the International Intermodal team since his move to Omaha, Nebraska in 1997 managing several major ocean carrier accounts as well as focusing on strategic marketing projects.

Union Pacific Railroad is an operating subsidiary of Union Pacific Corporation. UP operates North America's premier railroad franchise, covering 23 states in the western two-thirds of the United States. The railroad links every major West Coast and Gulf Coast port and provides service to the east through its four major gateways in Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis and New Orleans.
