California Chamber of Commerce
The California Chamber of Commerce supports expansion of international trade and investment, fair and equitable market access for California products abroad, and elimination of disincentives that impede the international competitiveness of California business.

Federal Trade Commission (FTC)
The Commission enforces a variety of federal antitrust and consumer protection laws. It seeks to ensure that the nation's markets function competitively, and are vigorous, efficient, and free of undue restrictions. It also works to enhance the smooth operation of the marketplace by eliminating acts or practices that are unfair or deceptive.

Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED)
A useful website for economic updates on Minnesota and business assistance provided by the office.

Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA)
The core mission of the MIGA is to enhance the flow to developing countries of capital and technology for productive purposes under conditions consistent with their developmental needs, policies and objectives, on the basis of fair and stable standards for the treatment of foreign investment.

National Retail Federation
It is the world's largest retail trade association representing retailers of all types -- from mass merchandisers and specialty stores to department stores and discounters in the U.S.

A useful site about the economic development and business opportunities in Ohio.

South Carolina Department of Commerce
The South Carolina Department of Commerce is the state's lead agency for the growth and development of business and industry. As a part of the Governor's Cabinet, the Department of Commerce directly shapes the state's economic vision. It also maintains Public Railways, Aeronautics, and the South Carolina Film Office. Main offices are located in Columbia, South Carolina. Branch offices are located in Aiken, South Carolina; Frankfurt, Germany and Tokyo, Japan.

Oklahoma Department of Commerce
The Oklahoma Department of Commerce is the lead agency for economic development in the state. The department's mission is to stimulate the creation, expansion and retention of jobs and growth of investment in Oklahoma.

United Nations
The United Nations is central to global efforts to solve problems which challenge humanity. Cooperating in this effort are more than 30 affiliated organizations known together as the UN system. Day in and day out, the UN and its family of organizations work to promote respect for human rights, protect the environment, fight disease, promote development and reduce poverty. UN agencies also define the standards for safe and efficient transport by air and sea, help improve telecommunications and enhance consumer protection, work to ensure respect for intellectual property rights and coordinate allocation of radio frequencies. The United Nations leads the international campaigns against illicit drug trafficking and terrorism. Throughout the world, the UN and its agencies assist refugees and set up programmes to clear landmines, help improve the quality of drinking water and expand food production, make loans to developing countries and help stabilize financial markets.

United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce
It is a chartered bi-national organization promoting trade and investment between the two American nations.

University of Washington Educational Outreach
It is a division of the University of Washington which offers an intensive 10-week certificate program on Business for International Professionals, covering fundamentals of international business, with an English as a second language (ESL) component.

US Chamber of Commerce
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation, representing more than three million businesses and organizations of every size, sector and region.

US State Department
A useful website explaining the US policies, different reports and services provided by the Department.

Washington State China Relations Council
The council supports Washington State's growing ties with China.

Bureau of East Asia and Pacific Affairs

The Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, currently headed by deals with U.S. foreign policy and U.S. relations with the countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

Bureau of Industry and Security
Formerly known as the Bureau of Export Administration, this bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce provides information on U.S.-PRC trade and export controls. BXA also maintains an extensive resources list with links to U.S. government web sites that have export control responsibilities. In English only.

Central Intelligence Agency
The CIA provides many papers and publications on recent China issues and historical events. It also has country profiles, reference maps and information on the geography of China, economy of China, China's government and military, transportation in China and communications in China in the World Factbook online. In English only.

Department of State International Information Programs
Provides information on US government international policy and specific details for regions worldwide. Also contains links to web sites on regional issues and US embassy and consulate web pages. Available in English, Chinese, French, Spanish, Russian and Arabic.
