Beijing Doorknock 2011
March 30 - April 2, 2011

The upcoming Beijing Doorknock 2011 will be held between March 30 and April 2, 2011. Last Year, AmCham also took a trade delegation of senior business leaders to Beijing, China for face-to-face meetings with Chinese government officials. The purpose of the Door-Knock was to provide first-hand feedback to the senior government officials on the opportunities and challenges of doing business in China from a Hong Kong perspective. Topics of discussion included:

• Hong Kong’s role as a key “gateway” for international businesses wanting enter China as well as a platform for Chinese businesses wanting to go global;
• Hong Kong and Mainland China’s Closer Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA);
• Financial regulatory reforms and plans for expansion of RMB services;
• The Strategic and Economic Dialogue (SED) talks and US-China trade relations;
• Environmental concerns and collaboration between China and Hong Kong; and
• The social and political development in Hong Kong

Meetings were held with senior officials from the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC), State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE), Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), and the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office.
