Recent research from the Cambridge Energy Research Association concludes that two-thirds of global increases in energy production will come from the Asia-Pacific region. What's equally clear is that the Asia-Pacific region has emerged as a major consumer of the world's energy, with ever-greater consumption forecast.
Jerre Stead, the executive group chairman and CEO for IHS Inc, will share his insights and strategic analysis of the forces driving Asia-Pacific's emerging energy market. He will discuss global energy markets, oil and gas reserves, and the overhanging question of geopolitics. Mr. Stead also will examine China's expanding energy needs, and its strategies to secure steady energy supplies.
IHS is a leading strategic consulting and operational solutions provider for the energy industry, focusing on exploration analysis, global production management and tools for the oil, natural gas and electrical power markets, regionally and globally. Its market capitalization is US$2.5 billion. Its Cambridge Energy Research Associates division hosts the energy sector's leading energy summit every year in Boston and counts international energy companies, governments and financial institutions among its clients.
Mr. Stead has played key leadership and strategic roles as a CEO and board member at a number of major MNCs including Ingram Micro, Honeywell, Square D Co., AT&T Global Business Communications Systems, and NCR Japan. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa and the Harvard Advanced Management Program in Switzerland. Over his career, he has served on the boards of 29 corporations.
