Some of the market characteristics of luxury goods and services are their very high sensitivity to economic upturns and downturns, high profit margins and premium prices, as well as carefully controlled brands. Without compromising on the premium pricing and services, how do luxury brands such as the Four Seasons sustain or even thrive given the changes in demand?


The first Four Seasons hotel opened in the spring of 1961. Forty-eight years and 82 properties later, Ms. Susan Helstab, Executive Vice President Marketing of Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts, will share with us the innovative secrets of building a high quality brand externally with consumers and internally with the employees. She will also reveal the strategic directions for Four Seasons in sustaining their quality, services, consistency and value during a time of change.

Susan J. Helstab, Executive Vice President Marketing, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. In this role she oversees the global sales and marketing operations for the company’s 82 properties in 34 countries. In her more than two decades with Four Seasons, Helstab has witnessed a world of hospitality industry change. Ms. Helstab joined the Four Seasons in 1987 as Director of Advertising and Promotion and through a series of promotions, has now been holding her current position since January 2009. She was previously Vice President at McCann-Erickson Advertising for eight years, managing accounts for global brands including Coca-Cola, American Express, Nescafé, Johnson & Johnson and Tetley Tea in New York and Toronto.

* To ensure that we capture all your online registrations on time before the event, the online booking system will be deactivated 48 hours prior to the event.
* An email confirmation will be sent to the registered email address two (2) working days prior to the event. Online bookings will generate an automated confirmation via e-mail.
* Membership is on an individual basis. Non-members can only attend at non-member price.
* All cancellations must be notified in writing at least two working days prior to the event, or six working days prior to the conference. No-shows will be charged.
* Faxed or mailed booking forms received without payment (check/cash) will be considered void, unless valid credit card details are given as guarantee. If payment is not received by 5pm the day after the event, the credit card on file will be charged automatically.
* When Typhoon 8 (or above) or Black Rainstorm Signal is hoisted, all events will be cancelled.
