Breaking The Mold - The New Face of Long-Haul Air Travel

Rev. Dr. Raymond C. Lee, Co-Founder and Chairman, Oasis Hong Kong Airlines

Oasis Hong Kong Airlines has brought a new business model of low- fare, long-haul air travel to Hong Kong. The take-off in October 2006, nevertheless, met with a bit of storm and aroused territory-wide attention as to how this business would be run. After four months of operations, Dr. Lee would like to give an account of how he is melding the best of both low-cost and full-service carrier models -- timely and efficiently -- to make long-haul business class travel affordable, while seeking to set and meet high standards for service and on-time performance.

Dr. Lee will talk about the strategies he and Oasis use to tackle the challenges of being a high-profile start-up in how Hong Kong's highly competitive aviation space. He will discuss its full-service, low-cost business model with direct routes to London-- soon to expand to other European cities, the U.S. and Canada-- generates significant and meaningful benefits and opportunities for Hong Kong's economy and citizens and those of destination cities.

Rev. Dr. Raymond C. Lee is the co-founder and chairman of Oasis Hong Kong Airlines, chairman and CEO of the Oasis group of property development and management companies, chairman of East-West Enterprises Co., Ltd (Cambridge, Mass) and also chairman and managing director of H.Y. & HT Bros. & Co Ltd. (HK). He is also the founder & president of the HK East-West Institute and serves as a voluntary pastor of Faith Community Church. Rev. Lee holds a bachelor of arts degree with high honors from Swarthmore College, a master in education degree Phi Delta Kappa from Harvard University, a master of arts in theological studies degree (cum laude) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and an honorary doctorate degree in business management.
