Where Should Expatriates Work and Live in Asia?

Learn more about the trends and key changes in international assignments, as well as quality and cost of living - post economic downturn.
In 2009, companies were under tremendous pressure to manage international assignment costs. As a result, organizations introduced a number of key changes to overall international assignment policy. Is the same trend continued post economic downturn, or are companies easing back on cost containment efforts? What changes are taking place? Which cities are cost-prohibitive or livable for expatriates ¡V which impact companies' decision on assignment location?
Ms. Cathy Loose, Principal and Asia Pacific Global Mobility Leader at Mercer, will present the highlights from Mercer¡¦s 2010 International Assignment survey. Additionally, she will discuss the findings from the recent worldwide surveys on cost of living and quality of living. These annual surveys rank 200+ cities globally and provide benchmarks for multinationals to better manage their global mobile employees.
Specifically, Ms. Loose will provide insights on: * Most livable cities in Asia Pacific * Most expensive cities in Asia Pacific * Key changes that impact expatriates looking at expatriates allowances and perquisites * Expected international assignment trends
Based in Tokyo, Ms. Cathy Loose has over 17 years of HR experience in both consulting and private industries. Prior to joining Mercer, she led PricewaterhouseCoopers Indochina's global HR consulting practice and was also responsible for PepsiCo Foods International's European regional compensation and benefits programs. She has consulted for major multinational companies as well as nonprofit organizations covering diverse industries and sectors. In terms of project scope, Cathy had been the project leader for a number of major projects across Asia Pacific as well as Europe covering merger and acquisitions issues, spin off/restructuring. She also has extensive experience in global mobility, having managed the European expatriate process for PepsiCo Foods International as well as being one the lead global mobility consultant for Mercer working closely with multinational clients addressing global mobility challenges. She is currently involved in a number of global mobility projects addressing particularly challenges within Asia Pacific region.

* Faxed or mailed booking forms received without payment (check/cash) will be considered void, unless valid credit card details are given as guarantee. If payment is not received by 5pm the day after the event, the credit card on file will be charged automatically.
* When Typhoon 8 (or above) or Black Rainstorm Signal is hoisted, all events will be cancelled.
