The discussion will be a general update on CPSIA rulemaking and the speakers will answer any questions regarding implementation of the requirements.

ABOUT THE DELEGATION:
Laurie Hopkins joined the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s (CPSC) Office of International Programs and Intergovernmental Affairs in March 2006. Laurie is responsible for managing CPSC’s work with China and coordinates CPSC’s China and Hong Kong manufacturer training events. Laurie is also responsible for CPSC's bilateral working group activities with CPSC’s counterpart agency in China, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine as well as Hong Kong Customs. Laurie holds a Master of Arts degree in International Economic Policy from The American University in Washington, D.C. and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from George Mason University.
Demar Granados is with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in the Office of Compliance & Field Operations. He has been with CPSC since 2003 working on numerous different product areas from mechanical, chemical, electrical, household items and also children’s products overall investigating product defects and negotiating product recalls when necessary. In 2008, he became the Fireworks program manager working primarily on enforcing the various safety and performance regulations administered by the Commission for consumer fireworks.
