Hong Kong's traditional function as China's "Window on the World" has changed dramatically, as China outgrows its role of the "factory workshop" to Hong Kong's "storefront sales counter" and the S.A.R. has become increasingly directly linked to Guangzhou and Shenzhen. The establishment of new border crossings and the extension of high-speed rail and metro networks, which will successively come on stream in the next five to 10 years, will increasingly place these three cities - and their business districts - within convenient commuting distance of one another.
In an extensive and detailed presentation, Andrew Ness, executive director, CBRE Research, Asia, will explore the impact that Hong Kong's growing integration with the Pearl River Delta will have on the Hong Kong office market. He will also discuss opportunities this new situation may offer Hong Kong-based businesses.
Andrew is responsible for coordinating CB Richard Ellis research teams in Asia. He supervises research to support client-based initiatives, the provision of in-house support to its agency and professional services departments in Asia and the preparation of the company's Asia, Asia Pacific research publications.
