CHINA BUSINESS BRIEFING PROGRAM - Invest in the U.S. Series (in Mandarin)

The program offers a total of six sessions which builds upon each other. The series aims to help the companies looking to invest in the US to understand fundamental issues in investing in the US from various perspectives including legal, accounting and tax, human capital, public relations, government relationship, etc. The first session of this series will outline the current investment climate in the US and provide and overview of investment strategies and structuring considerations among other topics. The seminar will explore why there are those who consider the US to currently be an excellent opportunity for Chinese investments. It is being supported by Deloitte Asia Pacific Core of Excellence (AP ICE) and O'Melveny & Myers whose directors promise to share their own experience as well as bringing independent experts to highlight the benefits of investing in, and opportunities currently available in the US market.

Session 1: Overall Investment Considerations in the U.S.
· Overview of Chinese investment trend in the U.S.
· Investment strategy in the U.S. (Greenfield vs. M&A vs. Joint Venture)
· Overview of legal entity selection and related legal considerations for investing in the U.S.
· Overview of key tax concepts for investing in the US (major considerations in structuring, financing and business model)
Session 2 (End of January): M&A in the U.S.
Session 3 (Mid-March): Structuring and financing your investments in the U.S. (Greenfield)
Session 4 (Early May): Operating in the U.S. – Know what you don't know (I)
Session 5 (End of June): Operating in the U.S. – Know what you don't know (II)
Session 6 (Mid-August): Repatriation and exit strategies from the U.S.
