During this panel, Dariusz Kowalczyk, chief investment strategist for CFC Seymour, will discuss how macro-economic trends are affecting consumer spending. A specialist on China's monetary policy, fixed income, currency and equity markets, Mr. Kowalczyk is a regular guest on CNBC, CNN, BBC, and Bloomberg. He is a graduate of Brandeis University and Poland's Krakow University of Economics.
Normandy Madden, editor and managing director of AdAgeChina, is an expert at covering emerging markets. She will discuss what realities about Chinese consumers and a regional MD of an ad agency need to know. Ms. Madden is the Hong Kong-based Asia editor for Advertising Age magazine and the editor and managing director of AdAgeChina, a web-based newsletter about marketing, advertising and media in Greater China. She frequently travels in mainland China. Before moving to Asia ten years ago, she was based in Prague, where she covered central and eastern Europe for Ad Age.
Susan Tomsett, regional MD of the global PR firm The Hoffman Agency, will offer insights into the challenges and opportunities of China's fast-moving consumer goods and luxury goods retail markets. A veteran of the A-Pac communications consulting landscape with 18 years' experience, Ms. Tomsett's clients have included Visa International, Philip Morris and a multitude of FMCG and luxury brands including Unilever, P&G, Louis Vuitton, Elizabeth Arden, and J&J Pharmaceuticals. | | This panel is the first in an interactive series about China's consumers. |
