AmCham President Tara Joseph visited GT (Ellen Yeung) College on September 19th to speak to students about her own experiences and how they might shape their own future. The outing was part of AmCham’s Conversation with a Leader series, developed by Frank Wong, co-leader of the chamber’s Education Affairs Group.
“It’s quite an experience looking out over a sea of young bright students and thinking: this is the future of Hong Kong. I was taken aback at the caliber of questions and enthusiasm from the 580 students ranging from grades 7-12,” Tara said.
“I learnt as much from visiting the school, as I could even hope that they learned from me. I chose the topic of passion and adventure because I hope Hong Kong’s young people will feel compelled to reach for their dreams and dare to explore new paths like travel or journalism. I saw quite quickly that there is an appetite for that.”
