'The way manufacturing is moving away from China, India has an opportunity to get out and really compete,' President Tara Joseph cited as saying at New Delhi press conference during three-day visit

A Free-trade agreement between Washington and New Delhi would be "a game changer" in terms of boosting trade and investment by major US companies, AmCham President Tara Joseph told a press conference in New Delhi on September 3, according to Indian media.

“As a group, we want to understand what we see as a great window of opportunity for Asia, for our companies to invest in India. The way manufacturing is moving away from China, India has an opportunity to get out and really compete on that front,” she was cited saying by the Times of India during a three-day delegation tour that was organized by the Apparel, Footwear & Supply Chain committee.

"There is a lot of competition from countries like Bangladesh, Vietnam and Indonesia, and and India needs to do all it can to increase its relevance,” Joseph said, according to a report by the Hindu BusinessLine.
