'Don't throw Hong Kong under the China bus,' Robert Grieves tells Bloomberg TV's Rishaad Salamat, urging deeper engagement between Washington and Hong Kong.
On the risk of US repealing the Hong Kong Policy Act: "Don't throw Hong Kong under the China bus. Don't do anything that's going to damage or hurt the people of Hong Kong. We have a hundred thousand people employed by American companies in Hong Kong... we are stakeholders here. We don't want the US government to do anything that's going to be precipitate and hurt the people of Hong Kong. So we say, first, do no harm. Make a statement. But we'd rather have more American officials come out to Hong Kong; we'd like to see more Hong Kong officials go to [Washington]. But that doesn't seem to be happening."
