Michelle Wei is vice president and Deputy General Counsel at Flex. Flex is the manufacturing partner of choice that helps a diverse customer base design and build products that improve the world. Through the collective strength of a global workforce across 30 countries and responsible, sustainable operations, Flex delivers technology innovation, supply chain, and manufacturing solutions to diverse industries and end markets.
Being the Chief Legal Counsel for Asia, Michelle’s primary responsibilities are managing a wide range of legal issues in Asia region which include corporate governance, contracts, procurement, disputes management, compliance, trade, M&A, new investment, labor & employment and other regulatory areas.
Prior to joining Flex, Michelle worked with law firms in China and New York. She was also trained at a solicitor’s firm and a barrister’s chamber in London. She is admitted to practice law in China and New York State.
Michelle served as secretary and director of Hong Kong Corporate Counsel Association (“HKCCA”) from 2015 to 2017. Currently, she is a co- chair of the Law Committee at AmCham HK since October 2020.
Since becoming a member in October 2020, Michelle has been actively participating in and contributing to the Chamber’s various events including organizing a vaccination webinar in February 2021, a supply chain webinar in March 2021. Michelle also participated the Fintech competition as a judge in May 2021. Through Michelle’s efforts, Flex has established a strong partnership with the Chamber by sponsoring the Chamber’s Social Impact series in 2021 and upgrading its membership to the top tier membership category, Leadership Forum in 2022. As part of the Social Impact Series, Flex organized two webinars, one was workplace culture in September 2021; the other was sustainability in April 2022.
Most recently, Michelle spoke at ReThink HK in October 2022, a program sponsored by the Chamber as a content partner. Michelle is also participating as a panel judge in the Women of Influence’s Champion of Women award competition.
Michelle is passionate about giving back and empowering others. Michelle’s energy, passion, leadership and strong collaborative capabilities and commitment to building the Chamber’s strength and effectiveness would make her a good member of the Board of Governors.
